How do I select the correct network for my cryptocurrency deposits?

How to avoid errors when transferring crypto

Updated over a week ago

When making cryptocurrency deposits or withdrawals, it’s essential that the network used on the sending platform matches the one selected on Quantia.
A mismatch between networks can lead to irreversible loss of funds.

Each token is linked to one or more compatible networks

Cryptocurrencies are designed to operate within one or more specific blockchains — each with its own protocol, structure, and validation standards.
This means that not all networks are interchangeable, even if they support the same token.

For example, the USDT token can be transferred across multiple networks, such as:

  • ERC-20 (Ethereum)

  • TRC-20 (Tron)

Quantia automatically selects the compatible network in most cases

When you generate a deposit address in Quantia:

  • For many cryptocurrencies, the system automatically chooses the correct network.

  • In some cases, you may be able to choose between several available networks for that token.

It’s crucial that the withdrawal network used in your wallet or exchange matches exactly the network selected in Quantia.

What happens if the networks don’t match?

If a token is sent through a different network than the one selected in Quantia:

  • The system will not be able to recognize or credit the transaction.

  • In most cases, this can result in the permanent loss of funds.

Practical example

If you select USDT (ERC-20) as your deposit network on Quantia, the withdrawal network you choose in your sending wallet or exchange must also be USDT (ERC-20).
The same applies in reverse: when withdrawing from Quantia, make sure the receiving wallet supports the same network used for the transfer.

Recommendations before transferring:

  • Carefully verify the token, network, and address before confirming any transaction.

  • If unsure, review the documentation of your wallet or destination platform.

  • If you’re still uncertain about which network to use, contact our support team before making the transfer.
